At Broadleaf, I help businesses, investors and asset owners build credible, measurable strategies for value creation and positive impact. These strategies are grounded in data, designed for action, and centred on people, place, planet and profit.
Some clients begin their journey by way of compliance requirements for climate or ESG reporting. Others are pursuing regenerative outcomes from the start. Wherever you're beginning, I help you move from intention to capability, and from capability to compelling multi-capital results.
What started as a formative moment in childhood - the clearcutting of the forest behind my home - became a lifelong commitment to building a more just and regenerative economy.
I founded Broadleaf to help clients build capability from wherever they begin, whether responding to compliance requirements or pursuing impact from the start.
My work blends strategic insight with hands-on delivery and a grounded understanding of how identity, community, capital and regenerative potential interact to shape real-world outcomes.
Client: CRE Private Lender
Focus: Sustainability strategy, due diligence and disclosures
What we did:
Transformed a compliance obligation into a foundation for responsible investment. Developed sustainable investment policies, governance structures, and frameworks for reporting, training and borrower engagement. Introduced strategies to manage material sustainability risks and opportunities, including climate and modern slavery.
Led SaaS selection and onboarding to improve data collection and performance tracking. Built dashboards and reporting systems for analysis and investor disclosures, and created tools for due diligence risk assessment and impact-linked loan metrics. This strengthened internal capability, mitigated capital flight risk, and helped the flagship fund achieve its first investment-grade rating. As a result, responsible investment was embedded into operations.
Client: Property Fund Manager
Focus: Impact strategy, fund design, investor engagement
What we did:
Designed an ambitious, multi-layered impact framework to align real-world outcomes with regenerative intent. Built fund terms, logic models and digital infrastructure to support science-based thresholds across 14 impact themes and more than 1,000 indicators. Structured performance across four dimensions - corporate, environmental, economic and social - and integrated guidance from SASB, PRI, SBTi, TCFD, GRESB, B Corp and Future Fit into governance and reporting.
This was the client’s first time adopting a context-based strategy, backcasting from true sustainability to set thresholds and targets grounded in science and social equity. The work clarified how the fund delivers measurable, material impact, strengthened its credibility, and helped attract values-aligned capital.
Client: Real Estate Developer
Focus: Livability, social capital, wellbeing, urban design
What we did:
While sales, marketing and product teams had rich data to guide decisions, community development efforts were running on intuition alone. This led the creation of a national Livability Index to surface what truly matters to residents. The program has reached over 45,000 households and continues to generate insight more than 15 years later.
The research showed that quality of life is not only measurable and actionable, but also directly linked to satisfaction, referrals and financial performance. Key drivers analysis revealed that around 70% of wellbeing outcomes were tied to factors within the developer’s control. This work embedded livability, wellbeing and social capital into the foundation of how communities are designed and supported - aligning commercial performance with long-term quality of life.
